Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is radically neurodivergence-affirming, person-centered, depth-oriented, and existential. This means that my primary aim as your autistic therapist is to act as a compassionate helper during your process of self-discovery, going as deep as you want to go.

I believe the point of therapy is to help you learn more about yourself. This is not easily done since we can live our lives seemingly on autopilot and miss out on opportunities to adapt ourselves in order to live life more fully. Therapy offers a unique opportunity to have another human being sit with you and show you what you perhaps cannot see yourself.

Please note that my approach is existential and depth-oriented. If you are seeking CBT therapist who assigns worksheet homework or is highly directive, my style may not be for you.

I am formally trained in the following therapy approaches: Existential psychotherapy, Jungian Therapy, and Mindfulness. I also (sometimes) pull from the following therapies/theories: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal theory, Somatic Therapy, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Yoga Therapy, Vipassana/insight meditation, and EMDR.
